Bertozzi & Casoni. Le porte regali
for this joyful meeting occasion at Palazzo al Bosco, in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, are guests on June 25th and 26th of the dear friends and collectors Caroline and Eric Freymond, to present in the gallery of Palazzo the majestic work Le porte regali: an evocative flowering peach tree made of bronze and porcelain, with its roots facing the sky.
Where the tree is a metaphor for man, its overturning indicates an orientation towards spiritual nourishment, as the philosopher Pavel Florenskij cites in his essay The royal doors - Essay on the icon (Russia, 1922).
«In this work our thoughts went to the bonds of earthly life in which diseases, pains, injustices and misunderstandings of all kinds seem to find no way of resolving.
This installation ideally intends to create a short circuit, a liberating pause that leads us to consider the good part of man, that of acceptance and love that moves all things positively.» Bertozzi & Casoni, 2021
The exhibition, organized in collaboration with Caterina Tognon Arte Contemporanea gallery
of Venezia, includes, in addition to Le porte regali, a series of surreal (or metaphysical?) floral compositions.
