I Boreali
I am pleased to invite you to visit the gallery to admire the surreal world of Maria Grazia Rosin.

Maria Grazia Rosin, Folpo, Unique piece, Venice, 2000/2008, Light suspension, Hand-blown glass, Master blower Sergio Tiozzo, Murano, H 100 x Diam. max 140 cm, Light On, Courtesy: Caterina Tognon
Folpo, is a dialect word that has by its nature a form that recalls the traditional venetian chandelier. There is a linguistic link between the octopus and practice of Murano glassmaking: glass blowers usually call the badly made objects as Folpi.

Table objects of glass whose inspiration enhances the characteristics of invertebrates tentacles and suckers. It is a typical and recurrent subject in the venetian art of glassmaking, but reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Rosin in an original way.

Lighted suspensions, designed for this specific room, in a dark blue glass: this opaque, translucent, satined and mirrored work makes a disorienting and mysterious effect. It is inspired by phytomorphic bodies with long and modular arms floating in the air towards each other.
